Control panels are one of the most important features of a model railroad, the place where all the wired electronics are based. There are two good reasons for using control panels on your railroad.
First, for ease of operation you will need to be able to identify each control switch quickly and easily. Even a modest layout can have dozens of switches. Second, a well-organized control panel and associated wiring system will make repairs and modifications easy.
The control panels we design have a complete layout schematic with all necessary toggles and illuminated pushbuttons furnished. The best part about our design is that it allows the operator to see the direction in which the turnouts are thrown on the control panel with LED indicators. This makes it very easy to see that all the turnouts your locomotives are approaching are thrown in the correct direction.
We use two LED's for each turnout. When one of the LED's is illuminated, this indicates the direction the turnout is thrown. By depressing the pushbutton switch, the turnout is thrown to the opposite direction and the other LED illuminates.
We can build you a complex or simple control panel, depending on your particular needs.
