Ballpark estimates

Can you give a ballpark estimate cost for the railroad?
That is one of the most common questions we get. But before we can answer, let us ask you a question.

Which ballpark do you play in?

  • Little League $2,500-$75,000.00
    (2x3 table size - 12x15 room size)
  • Minor League $75,000-$295,000.00
    (15x25 - 20x30 room size)
  • Major League $295,000.00 - up!
    (Full attic or basement size)

Of course it all depends on how much you want us to do whether it's phase #1 Benchwork, track work & electrical, phase #2 Scenery or phase #3 shipping & set-up.

Budgeting for your railroad

We spend a fair amount of time on estimating for your railroad, so that we can give you the most accurate estimate possible. Our estimates are not "low-balled" to get you to buy, but are realistic and we stand by our numbers even if it costs more than what was on the estimate, you will not pay any more than what is on the original estimate!

We can give you a "ball-park" estimate would be free and could be given over the phone depending on the details. Our detailed estimates could take a couple of weeks to develop and would require a fee because of the research time involved. This fee would be used as part of your deposit should you decide to hire us.

(Full estimates can take over 30 hours to complete)

There are three ways to approach budgeting your railroad.

1) A set budget of what you want to spend for the railroad.
2) Freelance work (pay as we go) on your railroad.
3) No set budget and willing to pay for what you want.

Tip:
Be realistic about how much you railroad you can afford!
